Gaming monitors are becoming more popular as people are starting to realize how much of a difference they can make in the gaming experience. Many gamers now consider having a good gaming monitor as one of their top priorities, and for good reason. However, as manufacturers are doing their best to create the best gaming monitors possible, their prices are starting to reflect that.
The good thing is that there are still monitors out there that are affordable, and one of those is the Z-Edge U24C. Priced at $179.99 (Check on Amazon), it falls under the budget-priced category. Z-Edge might not be a well-known brand, but it seems they receive a large number of positive reviews, especially with its U24C gaming monitor. In this review, we will take a look at the Z-Edge U24C and see if this monitor really a good budget option.
The first thing you’ll probably notice about the U24C is its design. Unlike a lot of other gaming monitors on the market that are bulky and have a lot of sharp edges, the U24C is sleek and curved, with very few hard angles. This makes it a lot more aesthetically pleasing, and it should also help to reduce eye fatigue for those who use it for long periods of time.
Curved monitors are all the rage these days and for good reason – they provide an immersive viewing experience that is perfect for gaming and watching movies. The Z-Edge U24C 2800R curved design perfectly wraps around your vision, providing an even better viewing experience than a standard monitor. In addition, the aspect ratio of the U24C is 16:9, which is standard for most monitors these days. This means that you’ll be able to watch movies and play games in their original format without having to adjust any settings.
The bezels on the top and sides are also quite thin, so you won’t have any trouble using multiple monitors together. There are no buttons on the front of the monitor, which can be both good and bad. On one hand, it means there are no distractions and nothing that can ruin the clean look of the monitor. On the other hand, if you need to adjust any settings, you’ll have to go into the menu, which can be a bit of a hassle.
This is where the Z-Edge U24C falls a bit short. It only has a refresh rate of 75Hz, which is lower than most gaming monitors on the market today. A refresh rate of 75Hz may be okay for some people, but it will definitely not be enough for serious gamers.
For the price of the U24C, I would have expected a higher refresh rate (something like 144Hz). However, it is still possible to get a great gaming experience with it if you only play slow-paced games.
In terms of the response time, it isn’t as good as other monitors either, with a rating of 5ms. This means that there may be some ghosting or trailing effects in fast-paced games. If you are a serious gamer, you will definitely want to look for a monitor with a fast response time.
I’m not sure why Z-Edge decided to skimp on these essential features, but it is definitely a downside of the U24C. Anyway, we’ll move on to some of the other features that it does offer.
The U24C comes with a 24-inch screen, which is a good size for most people. It also has a resolution of 1920×1080, so you’ll be able to see all the details in your games and movies. This is the standard resolution for 1080p gaming monitors, so you won’t have any problems using it with your existing devices.
The Z-Edge U24C computer monitor features a VA panel type with a 3000:1 contrast ratio. This means that the monitor has a wider viewing angle than regular TN panels and that it can display a greater range of colors. However, it is not that great if we compare it to monitors that have an IPS panel type.
One thing I notice is that the Z-Edge U24C stands out for its high contrast ratio. This is a great feature for those who like to watch movies or play games in a dark room, as it will help to make the image brighter and more visible.
One ergonomic feature that the Z-Edge U24C does have is a tiltable stand. This allows you to adjust the height for your most comfortable position. While it isn’t as good as having a full range of motion, as you would find on some gaming monitors, it is still better than nothing.
It would be great if Z-Edge would add some more ergonomic features in future updates as they are definitely lacking when compared to other monitors on the market.
One of the best features of the Z-Edge U24C is its built-in eye care technology. This includes a blue light filter and flicker-free technology, which help to reduce eye fatigue and stress.
This is a great feature for those who spend long hours in front of their monitor, as it can help to improve their viewing experience. The blue light filter especially is very effective in reducing eye fatigue.
Another nice feature of the U24C is its built-in speakers. This means that you don’t have to purchase any additional speakers or audio equipment to use with your monitor. The sound quality isn’t the best, but it is still decent for watching movies or listening to music.
The Z-Edge U24C comes with multiple ports support. This includes the traditional VGA port, as well as an HDMI port. This makes it easy to connect the monitor with other devices, such as your TV or gaming console.
Honestly, I was a bit disappointed in the gaming performance of the Z-Edge U24C. I know that it is not marketed as an extreme gaming monitor for its price point, but I still expected better. However, the colors are quite accurate and the viewing angle is pretty good, thanks to the VA panel. I think this monitor would be good for gamers who only play slow-paced games or for people who are not as concerned with gaming performance.
This is where the Z-Edge U24C really shines. It is great for office use, as it has a high contrast ratio and accurate colors. Also, the fact that it comes with a built-in Eye-Care Technology, Multiple Ports Support, and Built-in Speakers really makes it a great option for those who need a good monitor for work.
